Mercury Awards 2000
We were nominated for the Mercury Award for ‘Parachutes’. Among the other nominees were Richard Ashcroft, Doves, Leftfield, and Badly Drawn Boy who eventually won it.
It was our first awards ceremony and we had to play in front of all the other bands without Jonny who was ill. Musicians make for a very tough audience, especially drunk musicians.
