Roadie #42 crashes the Barcelona press conference

17.6.08 - Barcelona

The crew is running entirely on espresso today. I sneak along to the press conference in a nearby swanky hotel. When we get to the rather impressive and imposing foyer, there is a gent in a suit at a grand piano playing a lounge jazz version of Trouble. Given my level of sleep deprivation, it seems wonderfully twisted. Lord only knows how the band manage to be so affable and approachable throughout. The wit and good humour flows and soon the press conference is done. Just a gig to do and a flight back to London. See you at the BBC!

COLDPLAY.COM IS BACK!

Filed under: Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion — Nettie @ 1:32 pm

Head over to www.Coldplay.com to check out the brand new Coldplay website. Based around a timeline of the band’s history, the site is designed to keep you entertained until they return with their next album.

All four members of Coldplay have been heavily involved in the re-design of the site. Their hand-written accounts will accompany each of the entries on the constantly-expanding timeline, for which the band have opened up their extensive archive of flyers, pictures, videos and audio recordings.

We hope you like it.

This was an incredible day all round. Richard Ashcroft and I watched the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in the Afternoon then he played just before us in the evening.

We played a cover of ‘Perfect Day’ by Lou Reed

Coldplay Quit 16/02/2006

After the Brits, Chris’ comments were interpreted, predictably, by the tabloid press as the end of the band!

Making Talk Video 05/11/2005

Anton Corbijn made this video with us. The set builders were amazing and we had a lot of fun that day. Old sci-fi B-Movies were the inspiration.

Nightswimming 28/09/2005

Filed under: Guy Berryman — Nettie @ 3:31 pm

Chris and Michael Stipe performed ‘Nightswimming’ in the middle of the concert in Atlantoa, Georgia.

This was un-announced and the audience went bananas for R.E.M’s incredible frontman!
